From then on, your sensitive data is in the Azure Stack Hub but you keep certain applications that use it in Azure Public. This way, you benefit from the flexibility, speed of deployment and high processing capacity of the Public Cloud.

You can store your files and databases on Azure Stack Hub or on your Private Cloud and thus have full control over their location, management and backup. Then, on Azure Public, deploy your applications that process and access your data. User interfaces and client applications are less sensitive but require more or less variable, flexible and temporary computing resources.

If you have opted for a Hybrid Cloud strategy with the Azure Stack Hub and Azure Public, it is important that the two environments are interconnected in a secure and efficient way.

A VPN-based solution will still be simple to implement, secure, but not necessarily efficient. Internet speeds and latencies are not always optimal or guaranteed. Even with a good local internet connection, it is risky to rely on a simple VPN to transit traffic for your critical applications that require high, stable and guaranteed speeds.

What is the Express Route ?
It is a solution proposed by Microsoft that allows you to create a secure tunnel between a local environment (Private Cloud or Azure Stack Hub) and your Public Azure tenant. However, the great advantage lies in the fact that this tunnel is created using equipment that you control and that guarantees a constant and stable flow. In addition, a certain amount of redundancy and end-to-end SLAs allow you to transit business-critical traffic with complete peace of mind.

Linking the Azure Stack Hub to your Azure Public Cloud environment or a Private Cloud allows you to allocate resources to short-term projects at a lower cost than if you were using your own data centre IT infrastructure.
